Meeting a new friend

Today was my debut/open house for my new Thirty-One businessJamie is my new Thirty-One team member and was able to make the long drive to attend the debut and brought her sweet babies along.  Jamie is a fellow blogger and a previous co-worker before we both moved to different school districts and then later became Stay at Home Mommies!  I hadn’t seen Jamie in a long time and I was anxious to see her and meet her babies!  My friend Kelly (and her hubby) also came with their sweet boy Kaden.  Kaden is two months older than Hayden.  Hayden is two months older than Langston.  And Langston is about 17 months older than his little brother Riverson.   I am pretty sure that the boys had a fun time playing together!  And of course, we couldn’t leave the event without getting their picture together!

Hayden has become quite the hugger lately.  When he wants to that is.  Kaden and Hayden have gotten to hang out a lot more lately and I love it that they are becoming such great little friends!

To my friends and family who came today…Thank you so much for coming today and supporting me!   I appreciate you so much!

Valentines Party with our Friends!

Today, we attended our first Valentines party with our friends at Kristin and Payton’s house.  There were 6 Momma’s and 8 Little ones.  We ate some yummy food and had lots of fun!

Kristin had purchased a mailbox for each of the kiddos and filled it with goodies.  They were able to decorate their mailbox with all kinds of fun stickers.

Check out this spread…

Chips, dips galore (that were sooooo yummy), fruit, cheese, chocolate covered strawberries, chicken salad roll ups, grilled cheese, peanut butter sandwiches, yummy cake, white chocolate rice krispie treats, Chick-Fil-A tea, and Kristin even made HEART ice!

I think  the babies loved it!  I know the Momma’s did!  I couldn’t stay out of the dips!

This picture cracks me up.  They are all eyeing the chocolate covered strawberry.  Ha!

DSC_0254

The following series of pictures just make me laugh.  When we were trying to get the babies to sit together for a picture, Hayden refused.  The rest of them posed so nicely while Hayden was throwing  a little fit not wanting to cooperate.  Then, Kristin suggested I let him stand on on the fireplace.  This is the reaction we got!  Too bad we don’t have sound to go along with these pictures!

Everyone else is bored with the pictures.  Hayden is still excited he gets to stand on the fire place hearth.  He knows how lucky he is.

Hayden’s future girlfriend Grace.   Hayden LOVES her!!!!!  It’s almost an obsession.  He loves to hug and kiss on her.  He doesn’t kiss anyone else in his life other than Grace.  Seriously.

DSC_0263

Grace’s Daddy Geoff and Hayden’s Daddy Jeff work together.  You can imagine the trash talking that goes on between those too.  Jeff thinks it is funny.  Geoff does not.  Ha!   Ha!

(UPDATE:I stole this picture from Grace’s Mommy, Marla)

Hayden found a baby to play with.  He loved playing with the babies eyes.  Then, he would lift his shirt and touch the baby to his belly.  Weird.  I know.  I told you he is obsessed with touching things with his belly.

Parker was showing me her moves.  She is really great at twirling in her pretty skirt!

And us…at the end of the party.  Hayden was not interested in picture taking.  Again!  Why didn’t I think to stand him on the fire place hearth?

Kristin, you outdid yourself!  Thank you so much for having us over and letting us destroy your house!  Ha!  We love our playdates!

A Day in the Life of “Bad Boy”

Hayden and “Bad Boy The Police Bear” have become best friends lately!  Hayden received Bad Boy from his Nana and PaPa for Christmas.  Why is his name “Bad Boy”?  Hayden named him Bad Boy because he sings really loud and dances to the tune of “Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when they come for you, bad boys, bad boys.”  I am pretty sure I sing this song in my sleep!  One night Hayden kept saying something over and over and wanting the bear.  I finally figured out he was saying “Bad Boy”.   So, that has been his name since then.  Great name huh?

Bad Boy can usually be found…

In a window seat throughout the house.

Hayden and the Dogs.

Hayden and the Dogs have a love-hate relationship.  Really, Hayden loves them all the time.  The dogs, well…I am not sure how they feel!  Hayden has just started saying “Doo, Doo” {Skooter}.  It is HILARIOUS!

DSC_0211

Hayden loves to chase them and play tug of war with them.  They kind of like that too.  He will get to laughing so hard he almost looses his breath.   He also has started wanting to love on them and hold them.  He will just hold both his hands out and say “Doo, Doo”.  But, they pretty much just run off and hide!

DSC_0186

Skooter will, if you pick him up and hold him, let Hayden love on him and hug him.

DSC_0187

Hayden will say “Awww” when he is hugging them.

DSC_0189

Chloe just growls.  It makes Hayden so sad!

DSC_0185

I think they are have flashbacks of the times he has pulled their tail, ears, or hair.  HA!  But, Chloe pretty much makes every step Hayden does.  She just follows him around everywhere.  Maybe she will come around and let him love on her one day!

Megan and Jeff, Husband and Wife

Last night, Jeff and I spent our first night away from Hayden.  Nanny and Granddaddy came to hang out with him here at home, and we got to enjoy a night away from being Mommy and Daddy.  WHAT A TREAT!  We met six other couples at Luna de Noche for dinner and then headed over to Dodies to hang out a little more.  We were able to stay at the Hilton right next door so that was even better!  All within walking distance!  We enjoyed our night out with friends so much!  It was long overdue and we are so thankful for the time away.

Thank you to all our friends who were able to come out and celebrate with us!  Thank you Nanny and Granddaddy for watching our baby last night and Nana for coming to get him this morning for Church!

What an honor!

Today I had the honor of pinning a new {GOLD} badge on my hubby!  Jeff had his promotional ceremony and now holds the title of Sergeant and I could not be more proud!

DSC_0132

DSC_0001

Jeff worked so hard for months studying and preparing  to take the promotional test back in October.  Turns out he was number two on the list {earned the second highest score} and his time has come to officially promote.

DSC_0004 DSC_0133

Jeff and I both were blown away by the number of his friends/co-workers that attended this short and sweet ceremony.  So, those of you who read this…it meant the world to both of us!  To those who wanted to be there, but couldn’t because you were working so hard in this crazy weather, or couldn’t travel in the weather, or various other reasons…we appreciate you so much too!

Geoff…Thank you so much for all your support and motivation throughout this process.  I know Jeff treasures your friendship and is so appreciative of your “study partnership”.

DSC_0010

Just the two of us made the long icy trek to the ceremony today.  We decided to have Hayden stay home with my parents and Jeff’s parents decided not to brave the weather/roads either.  I think it was the best decision for sure!

DSC_0017

Jeff, I am so proud of your accomplishment.  I know you will provide exceptional leadership and will do a great job serving your department in a new capacity.  I love you!

Home Tour-{Bathrooms and Hallway}

I know, you read that title and you can hardly contain your excitement.  Bathrooms and the Hallway.  Yippee!!  HA!  Well, you have to include them in the tour right?  I mean, they are part of the house!  So, here goes…

We will begin in the master bathroom. I am pretty sure that this is one of my favorite places in our house the reason our water bill is way too high!

DSC_0823

Not sure if you remember, but I really struggled with finding mirrors for our bathroom.  I would find ONE I liked, but never could find two.  I searched for many months.  I felt like I kind of took a risk with black, I am really happy with how they look!

DSC_0821

Sorry about all the shadows and glares!  I need a photography lesson!  I couldn’t get a picture without them, not matter how much light I had.

   DSC_0834DSC_0830

DSC_0829 DSC_0828

I recently added this table.  Still not sure what purpose it serves or if I like it.  I am thinking I could use some baskets on there?

DSC_0122

I love our towel hook.  I got it several years ago at Ross, Marshalls, or TJ Maxx.  :-)

DSC_0123

That iron/framed thing is from Canton.  I love it but it is SO HEAVY!  That magazine basket is from Thirty One Gifts. I have one in both bathrooms and I LOVE them!

DSC_0827

Alrighty…on to the extra bathroom!  (Or, Hayden’s bathroom)

I am not real sure what the style is in here.  Somewhat of a shabby chic look, mixed with some red and black.  :-)  I am not completely happy with the way this bathroom looks.  It seems very unfinished to me for some reason.  But, it will get there!

DSC_0106

The lighting makes the pictures look yellow, but it is not yellow in there.

DSC_0109

There is that window!

DSC_0116

I took the glass out of it and just hung it as a “frame”.  I really want to do something else with it, but I haven’t found that perfect something.  :-)  Not sure if I want to put some letters/words or maybe a little birdie…Hmm!  IDEAS?

The towel hook.  Another one of my favorite things I got from my friend Lisa several years ago.

DSC_0117

I love this light fixture!  I found it on clearance for $19 at Lowes when we built the first time around and we were able to salvage it.  I tried to find two more for the master bath when we built again.  No such luck!

DSC_0114

DSC_0112

Now the hallway!

DSC_0125

When we hung the chalkboard window, we decided to place it off center so you could look at it from the kitchen.  Now, I just need to decide what to put beside it.  I am kind of thinking two or three simple black picture frames hanging vertically?  What ideas do you have?

Another one of those ceiling tile picture frames!  The lady who I bought it from said that this is the actual natural distressing.   They didn’t make any changes (paint) to it.  I love it!

There you have it.  Our bathrooms and hallway.  Hayden’s room is up next!
