Random Post including House Update 10-12-10

We made it home safe and sound!  I think we are all settled and back in our groove here at home!  If you didn’t notice from my previous posts, we had a blast in SC and can’t wait for our next visit!  Maybe in the spring!

When we got home, Hayden had a surprise waiting for him!  I had ordered this chair for Hayden while we were in SC because Hayden LOVED Landree’s so much.  Literally, the first thing he did every morning when he woke up was go sit in her pink chair.  He would just go in her room randomly and we would find him sitting in it.  So, what else would a momma of a spoiled little boy do?  Get him one of his own for his new room!

Ok, so maybe we need to work on the proper way to sit in the chair.  Ha!

DSC_0460He loves it!

I also bought him a pair of high heels and pink sunglasses.  HA! HA!  Just kidding!

JEFF. WOULD. DIE.

He already thinks I have ruined him forever by letting him dress up that one time.

After a trip to Good Samaritans where I scored a super cute Halloween costume for Hayden for 50 cents, we went to Parker’s 3rd birthday party.  She had a Candy Land theme and let me tell you…it was to die for!  I will wait to let Marla post pictures, but we had so much fun!

Sunday was church and clean up around the new house getting ready for the tape, bed, and texture guys to begin.   Progress!  I was really thinking we would be painting this week, but it didn’t quite work out that way.  I’m over it.  :-)  Maybe next week!

We have spent the last couple of days hanging out at home catching up from being gone for 9 days!  Hope you have a good week!

Fun with Friends-Days 6, 7, and 8

The last few days we have had so much fun just hanging out at the house, playing outside, and of course taking a few quick shopping trips here and there.  Jen and I have figured out that it is probably a good thing we don’t live by each other as much as we like to shop.  But, honestly, we have done a lot of looking and not much buying at all!  Still fun to look though!

54 I know Landree and the boys loved each other before we came.  But, their love for one another has definitely grown.  They have played so well together, followed each other around, read books, gone on lots of wagon rides, played with every toy in the house, and what I love most…randomly loved on each other.

52  I love my husband more than words can express, but having a best friend like Jen is indescribable. I do wish we lived closer, but I treasure our friendship and the time we (and our babies) get to spend together.  We were talking earlier about how we have come full circle and are getting to do fun things with our babies that our moms did with us together.  I love it!

53 Our flight leaves tomorrow and we are so excited to see everyone at home!  We have enjoyed our time in SC so much and already miss our friends and we haven’t left yet!  We love you guys and can’t wait to see you at Christmas!

Fun with Friends-Day 5

We started our morning in SC back at the zoo.  It was MUCH less crowded than Saturday and we had so much fun!  I feel like we really were able to enjoy everything there!  They really offer a lot of things for the kids to do.  I was impressed!

First stop was to feed Chrissy the giraffe some lettuce.  Hayden loved watching her and even fed her once.  Landree was all about it!  She is a pro at feeding the giraffes.

DSC_0049DSC_0382 DSC_0051 DSC_0383 I think Landree’s favorite stop at the zoo is the carousel.  I can understand why.   It is so much fun!  Hayden wanted it to keep going!  He loved it too!

Hudson was hugging up to his momma.  So sweet!

Jen talked me into feeding the birds some nectar.  It was such a weird feeling to have those birds all over you!  And they are SO loud!

DSC_0407 After visiting the barnyard animals, we were able to ride the train.  I think we all enjoyed it!  Again, Hayden didn’t want the ride to end!

Landree loved playing with the “lions” before we left.  Hayden was a little skeptical at first, but decided he would “pet” them.

We had some tired babies after the zoo trip and lunch at Chick-fil-a.

After naps, Landree decided to play dress up and wanted the boys to join in.  Hayden literally walked (clanked) around in these glass slippers for about 30 minutes.  It might have been the funniest thing I have seen in my life.  I sent Jeff a video and needless to say he was less than impressed.  Ha!  Sorry Daddy, we were just having a little fun.  Landree made him do it.

I think Hudson was a little jealous of Hayden’s look.  :-)

Landree wanted Hayden to wear his “king” crown.  Even Jen wore her crown!

Jen made a pumpkin bread this afternoon that had pumpkin, applesauce, bananas, and a yellow cake mix in it.  She topped it off with a homemade cream cheese icing.  It was delicious!

After Hayden woke up from his nap and Landree and Hudson were still resting, Hayden grabbed my hand and walked me to the front door.  You think that is a hint??  So, I took him on a long wagon ride around the neighborhood.  Then, after dinner, the boys enjoyed an evening wagon ride around the neighborhood while Landree rode her scooter.

Another fun-filled beautiful fall day!

Fun with Friends-Day 4

This morning we all got ready and headed to church.  We actually made it there on time!  Hayden did great in the nursery.  I was so glad!

After church, we made these yummy beef enchiladas for lunch.  After a nap, we headed to the park to have some fun and enjoy the fabulous weather!

Hayden did swing for a bit but particularly loved just walking around exploring and picking up sticks, pinecones, and pine needles.

Hudson loved swinging and Landree made a “campfire” and played a little on the equipment too.

The boys got to go down the slide with their mommas!  I know the pictures don’t really show it, but I think the boys really loved the slide.  Hayden wanted to keep doing it!  So fun!

After our park adventure, we went to Moe’s for dinner-Landree’s request.  After we got home, we were able to do some “face time” with Daddy, Granddaddy, and Nanny.  Hayden was so excited to “see” them!  I think he might miss them a little.  If you don’t know what “face time” is, it is an iPhone app. that is pretty much like using a webcam.  It is awesome!

Bed and bath for the babies, then Jen and I did a little more decorating and catching up on TV shows.  No late night shopping trip tonight.

We are thinking we may go back to the zoo in the morning.  We also have goals.  Goals to get some more decorating and organizing done.
