Memorial Day-Fun in the Sun

On Sunday, before Memorial Day, Hayden and I went over the Potts house for a little cookout and fun in the sun.  They had slip and slide and pools for the kids to play in.  They also had volleyball and washers for the adults.

And guess what?  Jen and the kids are in town, so they got to come too!  We stayed way longer than I ever expected us to be able to (without naps) and we all had the best time!   The kids played hard and the mommas got to relax and chat!

I love this!  Trying hard to blow those bubbles!DSC_0085

Wonder what they were anticipating here?  Cheetos?  Juice?  Hmmm, I am sure it was something good!  Ha!

All they needed was some cups and water and they were entertained for hours!DSC_0088DSC_0090DSC_0089DSC_0091

Before Hayden went to bed tonight, we were talking about going to church tomorrow.  He wanted to know if we were going to get to go back to Hudson Potts’ house for his party since we went last week after church.  I don’t blame him, it was pretty fun!

We do have our church youth group summer kick off party tomorrow.  Jr. High and High School kids.  Big water guns.  This should be interesting!

Fun in the Sun

We have been spending a lot of our free time having a little fun in the sun at home and at the pool with friends.  Hayden got this sprinkler for his birthday so Hayden and I suited up and had a little fun.  Good thing we live in the country and not just anyone can see me running through the sprinkler with my 2 year old.  Except, the UPS man that drove up right about this time.  Nice!

We got us a pool installed too.  Installed, meaning, Jeff put the handle on the slide.  Ha!

The slide is perfect for a truck ramp!

Hayden has recently started making this face  and says “Go, Go!”.  He wants you to say Ready, Set, Go!

Jen, Hudson, and Landree even came over a few times to swim and play in the sprinkler.  Except Landree and Jen were the only ones that would brave the sprinker.  The sprinkler is a little crazy!

Not sure what Hayden was doing.   Running away from the sprinkler maybe?

The boys got in a little tractor and 4wheeler riding!

We all also went swimming with Marla, Parker, Grace and Kristin and Payton one day.  We had so much fun swimming and then enjoyed pizza and more playing at Marla’s house.

Hayden was more concerned about snacks than swimming.  Hudson decided to join him!

Hayden and I also went swimming with Payton and Kristin.  I am not sure who enjoyed themselves more.  Hayden and Payton or Kristin and I.  It was a zero entry children’s pool area.  It was so nice  and we can’t wait to go back!

Hope you had a great Father’s Day with your family.  We did.  We went to my brother’s house this afternoon and enjoyed ribs.  They were delicious!  We spent most of the rest of the day relaxing and playing at home!  (Jeff’s family was suffering from a virus so we didn’t make it there today.  Hope they are better soon!)

Morning at the Park!

This morning, Hayden and I met Mia, Landree, and Hudson at the park.  The weather was perfect and the kids had such a great time!

These two stuck together pretty much the whole time!

Hudson enjoyed climbing up and down on everything and swinging too!

Last time we went to the park, I had to go up and down the slide with Hayden.  Today, he was so brave!  He went up the first time and sat down ready to slide but got back up and came back down the stairs.  The second time, he decided to go for it and did it all on his own!

Then, it was a race between Hayden and Landree to see who could get back up the quickest!

And, what is a trip to the park without collecting sticks and playing in the dirt?

We are so excited to be able to spend time with them!  I am pretty sure we will be getting in a lot of park/play time with Hudson and Landree over the next 10 days while Jen and Jeff Gray are gone with a college group from their church to Haiti for a Mission Trip. You can read more about their “mission” here and the creation of Alex’s house (that was in the works before the Earthquake).  If you have a few minutes, be sure to watch the videos!  (Especially the 2nd and 3rd one).   Have kleenex handy!  Really puts everything in our lives into prospective.  Those precious children MELT my HEART!   Please pray for them as they share God’s word and LOVE, provide leadership and worship,  and just pray for safe travel!!!

Bye for now…

Last night was a sad night.  The time had come.  The time I was dreading.  Saying “Bye for now” to Jen, Landree, and Hudson.  I was so strong until Landree was in tears right before we left because she wanted to keep giving Hayden goodbye kisses.  So sweet!

These two have become such great little buddies the past 6 weeks. They were able to see each other pretty much every day while Jen was here.

And so have these two…Landree and Hayden love each other so much already!  Landree is such a good big sister and is so good with Hayden too!

She especially likes to tickle him!

Or…help him walk around.

Or…play “Ring around the Rosies”.

I have enjoyed our time together more than words can express!  Hayden and I are planning a trip this fall to fly to go see them!  We are so excited!

We love you all so much and we can’t wait to see you again soon!
