Meet Sadie!

We have a new family member.  Last week, Sadie, a chocolate lab, joined the Smith household.  Remember this post?  Well, the little brown puppy is now ours. 

Bringing a new puppy into the house has been an adjustment for us all.  This includes Skooter and Chloe.  Needless to say, they are not fans of Sadie.  Yet anyway.  Hopefully they will come around.  But, for now they spend most of their time hiding in the bedroom.  If Sadie gets close to Chloe, this is her reaction…

But, there is one certain little boy that thinks she is pretty special.

She is pretty sweet (when she is sleeping).  Ha!  No, she is just a puppy and is still learning not to jump, bite/chew on everything including Hayden’s legs, arms, feet, etc.  Poor thing!  She is already spoiled.  She much prefers to be inside than outside.  But, she is supposed to be an outside dog.   We shall see…

Chloe in the tractor trailer.

Hayden thought it would be a great idea to put Chloe in the trailer behind his tractor.  Only, Chloe didn’t really think it was that fun. 

I couldn’t ever catch a shot of Chloe actually going for a ride in the trailer because she wasn’t there but a second when he took off.  But, here are some of Hayden’s sweet face while he was trying to get her to stay in the trailer.  Ha! 

 

We gave up on the trailer ride and she actually would ride in his lap for a few seconds. 

Tonight he said, “Chloe, night night, Hayden’s bed".  So sweet!  He loves her, loves to aggravate her, and tries to love on her.  Whether or not she likes it is questionable. 

Hayden and Jake

Hayden and Jake are pretty good buddies.  Or, Hayden thinks Jake is his buddy.  I am not real sure what Jake thinks about their relationship.   I guess Jake must kind of like Hayden though.  He pretty much lets him do whatever he wants to.

 

Yes, you are seeing that correctly.  Hayden has no underpants on.  Potty Training going on around the Smith House!  Hayden nor Jake seemed to mind.  I guess Mommy and Daddy didn’t either.  :-)

Hayden and the Dogs.

Hayden and the Dogs have a love-hate relationship.  Really, Hayden loves them all the time.  The dogs, well…I am not sure how they feel!  Hayden has just started saying “Doo, Doo” {Skooter}.  It is HILARIOUS! 

 

Hayden loves to chase them and play tug of war with them.  They kind of like that too.  He will get to laughing so hard he almost looses his breath.   He also has started wanting to love on them and hold them.  He will just hold both his hands out and say “Doo, Doo”.  But, they pretty much just run off and hide!

Skooter will, if you pick him up and hold him, let Hayden love on him and hug him. 

Hayden will say “Awww” when he is hugging them.

Chloe just growls.  It makes Hayden so sad!

I think they are have flashbacks of the times he has pulled their tail, ears, or hair.  HA!  But, Chloe pretty much makes every step Hayden does.  She just follows him around everywhere.  Maybe she will come around and let him love on her one day! 

Puppy (Big Dog) Love…

You may remember Jake from the barn shoppin’ four wheeler ride.  If the four wheeler goes, he goes too!  If he doesn’t get to ride, he runs beside you! 

He is Mom, Dad, and Robin’s border collie and is such a great dog!  He is so mild mannered and does not meet a stranger (unless you are a coyote).  I am pretty sure Skooter would not be here if it was not for Jake.  Last summer a coyote got after Skooter when we let him out one night and Jake saved him! 

Hayden thinks he is kind of special.   It looks like Jake thinks Hayden is kind of special too!

This video is the last one for the series. Meaning all but one were taken on the same day in our kitchen.  So, I am not guaranteeing that I might not find something super cute that my child has done that is worthy of a video post tomorrow.  :-)  I hope you enjoyed the series.
