Couple of Mommy Questions

1. Do you have any specific baby videos (Praise Baby, Baby Einstein) or music CD's that you and your baby love and at what age you started using them?

2. Soon we will be making a transition to a "real" bed when our house is complete. So, I have a couple of questions... What kind of bed do you have and do you like it? I kind of want one that has a rail that comes down so I don't have to throw Hayden in the bed when the mattress is lowered. But, I want a good bed too. Also, when did you put bumpers in or take them out? Because Hayden is a tummy sleeper, I am a little nervous about this. I don't want his head/face ending up in there, but also want some protection when he scoots all the way to the top of the bed like he does now.

In the past week Hayden has learned to hold onto a rattle, teether, and starting to try to put it in this his mouth!

Fun with Friends

On Friday night, Jeff, Hayden, and I ventured out to see our friends Matt, Amy, and their one year old, Barrett, in Wylie. We had so much fun! Matt cooked steaks, corn, and baked potatoes and Amy made her famous olive salsa! OHHH sooo good! It was so nice to get out of the house and hang out with our friends. They were so sweet to get down some of Barrett's things for us to use while we were there. It was so fun to see all the things that Barrett could do and all his new words and sounds he was making.



Hayden was such a good boy. He just hung out and even took a nap on their couch! Here he is just chillin' in Barrett's Bumbo seat while we sit around eating olive salsa!

Got a new look!

Well, I was feeling a little like I needed a change! I was so ready for a haircut and highlight. So I did it! Funny thing is I feel like I have a lot of highlights, but this picture really doesn't show it. Bad thing is, with this haircut, I really have to fix it. I can't just stick it up in a pony tail and go! We'll see how that works out with a 3 month old!

Outside-Almost Complete!!

Here is our house update! The outside is almost complete! If it looks like a barn, well it kind of is! ;-)

3 Months!

Today is a special day! Jeff and I both celebrate a birthday today and our precious baby boy is 3 months old! My Oh My...where does time go? He is growing and changing so much each day! Hayden, we love you more than words can describe!





What is Hayden up to these days?

*Talking, cooing, smiling, and even laughing!




*Found his hands! He loves sucking on his hands and fingers.


*Has discovered his tongue! He is like a lizard sticking it out all the time now!


*Starting to grab on to things more. (Has a little silky that he has learned to grab on to when he is in his car seat and put into his mouth.)
*Drooling a lot more! Blowing bubbles too!
*Sleeping full time on his tummy and doing great with it!
*Can turn on his side from his tummy when he is in his bed.
*Rubs his eyes when he is tired.
*Not a big fan of naps. We might get 45 minutes-1 hour one or two times a day.
*Mommy still rocks me to sleep for naps and nighttime. I know, I know...
*Usually goes to sleep around 9 or 10 PM and gets up for the day around 9, 10, or 11 AM. (Maybe that is why he doesn't take too many naps!)
*Usually goes about 5-6 hours after his last feeding at night, then wakes up every 3-4 1/2 hours thereafter. Does great going back to sleep after feedings in the night. I am just working on balancing whether to stay up and pump after that last feeding or just let it be! I am always worried if I do pump he will wake up soon and I won’t have any milk!
*We can now tell the difference between the pitiful "I'm Tired" cry and the mad "I'm Hungry" cry. He now sometimes will have this horrible scream/cry if he thinks you left him all alone or even if Mommy or Daddy walk out of the room and someone else is holding him. He might be a little spoiled! Is that possible?
*Will follow you with his eyes/head as you walk around the room.
*Can sit up for a considerable amount of time while you are holding him.
*Spends time looking around the room while sitting up checking things out.
*Will try to use his hands/upper body to sit up when he is laying down on the changing table or laying back in your arms.

*Loves bath time! Just sits back and enjoys the pampering!




Weighs about 12 lbs (on our scale).
Wearing 0-3 months clothes. Won't be for long though!
Wearing size 1-2 diapers we get at Sams. Size 2 is just around the corner. Already???

Hayden brings us so much joy each day! We are so blessed to have such a precious healthy baby boy!

House Update

Here are a few pictures of our house. We kind of thought the building itself would have been done by this weekend. But, it wasn't. Hopefully by next weekend so we can start framing up the inside walls!

Smiling boy!

Our baby doll is smiling all the time now and even laughing out loud some. It is precious! But, when I get out the camera, he gets a little stubborn like his daddy! Ha! He just stares at the camera and won't look at me any more when I am trying to get him to smile.

Happy Early Birthday to Me!

Jeff and I share the same birthday...July 15th. Jeff got his birthday present on Father's day. But, this is what Jeff suprised me with yesterday as my birthday present! Jeff was worried about what I would say, if I would be upset about him spending the money, etc. But, I am really excited. No, it isn't brand new, nor looks perfect, but it serves our purpose! We are so excited to have a golf cart for Hayden and I to ride around on, go to Mom and Dads, or for us all to go to the ponds to fish on or whatever! It even has a "lift kit" which Jeff is so excited about!

Steel Is In The Air!

We have steel in the air! We hope to have a completed steel building this week!
