3rd Month

We continue with the 12 days before Hayden's 1st birthday. Today we celebrate Hayden's 3rd month. I decided to try a video instead of posting pictures individually. I tried to keep it short. :-) It probably takes longer to look at with the video, so you will have to let me know if you like it or the pictures individually better. Enjoy!

Easter 2010

Our Easter morning started out like most Sundays by spending some time playing, going to church, and then going to Jeff's mom and dads house for lunch.

After lunch, we had a mini egg hunt for Brooklyn and Hayden. Cole hid the eggs for them. Hayden's sweet Nana helped him find some eggs.

Then, we went to my parents house for another Easter lunch and egg hunt with my side of the family. All the cousins that were there have boys and it was so much fun to see them all together today. I always remember going to my Aunt Barbara or Granny's house on Easter and all of us having an egg hunt. I was so excited to have everyone together today.

Hayden was having fun with all those boys. I think he was snickering at his Granddaddy.

1st Month

I decided in celebration of Hayden's upcoming birthday, I would reminisce a little. I thought I would take a look back at the past 12 months in the next 12 days before his birthday. I can't believe it has almost been a year already! Sniff, sniff!

Garden progress and one dirty boy!

Hayden is feeling much better! Praise the Lord! Today was one of those days were you literally spend 10 minutes indoors and spend the rest of the day outside. I love days like this!

Today, while Jeff worked in the garden...

(We planted corn, sweet corn, tomatoes, okra, cantaloupe, squash, and cucumbers. Doesn't it look good? A long way from the grass fire picture. HA HA!)

And I planted flowers and made a strawberry bed...

(Don't you love my little workstation Jeff set up for me? He even made me some great potting soil with fresh manure.)

Hayden rode the tractor with his Granddaddy...

Played in the dirt...

(See that blanket on the grass? That is where he is supposed to be playing with his toys. HA HA!)

And maybe ate a little grass and dirt too...

Needless to say, Hayden was in desperate need of a bath when we were all done!

Sick little boy!

DSC_0287

We have had a sick little boy the last couple of days. Hayden woke up Wednesday morning around 6:00 (after sleeping pretty much all night-YIPEE!) and had thrown up at some point during the night. It was all over his bed and all over him...dried. I felt so bad! I have no idea when it happened. Anyway, he just was not himself. He was wide awake but not crying, making much noise, or showing much emotion. He had not nursed in over 12 hours and he wasn't acting like he was hungry at all. He just laid his head on my chest and wanted to just cuddle (unlike him...he is a busy body!). Poor Jeff had clean-up duty. He was a trooper! So, we gave him a bath, I nursed him and he went right back to sleep. He pretty much slept until early afternoon yesterday. He has had a low grade fever (100.8 or lower) off and on both days. He has moments where he will play some and moments where he just wants to be held and moments where he doesn't know what he wants. He hasn't wanted much to eat or drink. I guess this is my biggest concern right now...dehydration.

I have started weaning him from breast milk and we have moved from supplementing formula to whole milk. He has really done great with this up to this point. I am down to two feedings a day (one in the morning and one at night). But, the past couple of days he hasn't wanted much of either one (milk or formula). He has still nursed pretty well though. So now, I am wishing I hadn't started weening so he would get some fluids!

I called the doctor this evening and the nurse said they had seen quite a bit of stomach virus lately. I am not sure that this is what he has, but she said just to continue the Motrin/Tylenol and monitor his wet diapers and call back if he had less than 4-5 a day.

Doesn't he look so pitiful with those rosy cheeks? So sad!

Hopefully he will will feel better tomorrow! Having a sick baby is no fun at all and causes your house to look like a tornado hit it (that's the excuse I am using anyway)!!

I hope you have a "Good" Friday!
