Where is the bear?

We spent last weekend at our Oklahoma deer lease.  It was so nice to get away, hang out at camp, and just relax.  I didn’t do any hunting.  Jeff did all the hunting.  I got to sleep in each morning with Hayden and just hang out around camp and play all day.   Oh and take naps too.   We have several friends on the OK lease with us.  It was extra fun because Hayden had some friends to play with!

We discovered quickly that one of the guys lab had new pups.  The boys LOVED playing with the puppies.

Jake and Ellie (the momma).  Crazy story.  Jake didn’t even know Ellie was pregnant.  He took her his other deer lease and then couldn’t find her anywhere.  He came back a week later and there she was at camp and had had puppies under someone’s travel trailer.

Pretty cute huh?

We had some work to do at camp!  Jeff built a new porch for us.

And here’s the tractor.  You know we never leave home without it.  Ha!

Headlamp.  One pant leg tucked in the boot.   On a mission to roast marshmallows.

Priceless…

That’s face paint on Jeff’s face in case you are wondering.

All the boys were looking at a picture of a tarantula on Jake’s phone.  There are seriously huge tarantula’s.  We see them quite often on the road going to the lease.  I haven't seen one at the  lease yet.  Praise the Lord!

We did it right!  We ate well all weekend!  Cooked on the be wok every morning for breakfast!  I cooked biscuits and made coffee  and Allie and Micah made the eggs and sausage.

We even bought a new coffee maker.  No more using paper towels as filters, boiling water, and dipping the coffee.

Back with the puppy.  We are kind of partial to the brown one.  :-)

So, the moment of truth.

Did Jeff get a bear?  Did he even see a bear?  The answer is no.  Boo!  No one saw one.  It’s crazy that we have a ton of pictures of them all over the lease but when it came time to get one, no one saw one!  Jeff still has a little more time.  Hopefully he can get one!

Have I scared ya’ll yet with all the bear and tarantula talk?  Ha!

Since I didn’t hunt all weekend, I went on Tuesday and Thursday here at home.  I saw 3 deer from afar on Tuesday and had 4 deer come into the feeder for about 30 minutes on Thursday.  Talk about fun to have them come in and not know you are there 20-25 yards away.  You can hear them crunching corn they are so close.

We shall see what the next week of hunting season holds…
