One of Hayden’s favorite things while on vacation was our visit to Moody Gardens. We decided to get the value pass and have access to the entire area. There is so much to do there. We didn’t get to do it all, but it was well worth the visit!
Our first stop was the aquarium. We all LOVED it! It was so cool and I didn’t take near enough pictures!
This was the shark area. This was an actual aquarium that you walk through. Sharks and other various fish were everywhere. Of course, Hayden thought it was the coolest thing…and it was!!
Penguins!
Next was the Rainforest exhibit. Again, very neat! A little on the hot and humid side!
Jeff is holding onto Hayden for dear life. That rope fence just wasn’t doing it for him!
These little monkeys had free reign. Kind of crazy.
They had a whole area closed off for butterflies. Right after I took this picture, Hayden grabbed this butterfly and about squished it. I almost died.
Hayden loved the Chinese Alligator.
It was really beautiful in there! So much amazing landscape!
After the rainforest, we went to see a 3D movie about prehistoric sea creatures. Not really that great. Did put Hayden to sleep and allowed him to get a quick nap. Then, we headed to the car for a little picnic. After lunch we drug all our gear to their waterpark, Palm Springs (hence why we were all wearing our bathing suits the whole time). Once we got in there, we pretty much just turned around and left. It was crowded and we knew we could enjoy our pool at our condo just a much or more! I think if you had older kids, they would love it! They also had a dinosaur area, a 4D movie, and Ridefilm Theatre, Discovery Museum, and a Ferryboat ride that you could do with your value pass that we didn’t take advantage of. I would definitely recommend getting the value pass.
All in all, Moody Gardens is well worth the money and a must see in my opinion.
