It's Snowing! (Part 1)

There is just something about waking up in the morning and finding a blanket of snow on the ground. Living in the south, this doesn't happen very often. It has continued to snow huge snow flakes all day. It is so beautiful! Thankfully today, the temperatures have stayed at or right above freezing, so it hasn't made the roads too bad...yet!

Here are a few pics of the three of us this morning...

Jeff, Hayden, and I took a drive around town this morning taking in the scenery and took some pictures. Those are for the next post!

One Week Post Breakthrough

Here's what our baby boy has one week post breakthrough!

It's amazing what a difference it has made in his temperament. He has been much happier since last Thursday. I guess those teeth breaking through was magical!

PS...I promise my child wasn't harmed during this photo shoot!

Mom Update 2-10-10

DSCN1509_edited-1

Happy Birthday Mom! (A couple of days late!) Mom's birthday was actually on Monday, but we didn't go see her until yesterday because of the yucky weather on Monday.

They moved Mom from Baylor Specialty Hospital to Baylor Institute of Rehabilitation yesterday afternoon. I really didn't know what to expect when we went there, but I was impressed with the facility and the care she was/is getting. Earlier yesterday, they had gone in and tried to remove some fluid from Mom's lungs again because she was/is having a hard time breathing. But, evidently there wasn't any fluid they could remove. So, that didn't help her any. She had pretty much completely gotten off her oxygen, but yesterday afternoon they put it back on her because she was having such a hard time breathing. The tricky thing is that even without the oxygen, her oxygen levels are measuring normal, but she feels like she is smothering. They are going to run some tests early in the morning, and get her Pulmonary and Heart doctors back involved to see if they can figure out what is going on.

Mom looked really good when we were there yesterday. I think if her breathing was better, then she would be recuperating a lot faster and would be able to do more of the therapy. They said that they do about 3 hours of therapy a day at this new facility. So, we shall see how that goes! I am hoping and praying that they get this lung thing figured out soon so we can get her home!

Times have changed...

This is what Jeff and I did this weekend after Hayden went to bed...

DSC_0595

My, my...how your lives change after kids! Not that Jeff and I were big party animals before Hayden. But, we didn't typically put together a puzzle on Friday and Saturday nights. :-)

Hope you had a great weekend!

Hey Hayden...

"Hey Hayden, what are you up to?"

DSC_0559

"Who me? Aww, nothing much. Just playing with a few of my favorite things...the laundry basket, hangers, and some cords."

DSC_0561

"Well, son...maybe you should get out from behind the chair. Those things are all tools, not toys." (Sounds like the kindergarten teacher in me huh?)

"But, Mom...do I have to?"

I am guessing will have many "But, Mom...do I have to?'s" as well.

Got one, lost four!

It's official, this precious toothless grin will soon be gone.

Hayden now has his first tooth poking through (top-middle-right tooth). I felt it this afternoon when we were at the dentist office waiting on Jeff to have his four wisdom teeth pulled.

Jeff did great. He was under conscious IV sedation while he had them pulled. We were there less than an hour. Jeff doesn't remember too much including our ride home. It took him a while to get the bleeding to stop once we got home, but he has taken his pain meds and he is good to go! We'll see how it feels tomorrow after the numbing wears off!

I think this is one for the baby book. Hayden gets his first tooth and Daddy looses four in the same day!

Hayden's shirt says "Backseat Driver", but before Jeff's appointment, he was practicing being THE driver!
