We have concrete!

I know it isn't as exciting to you as it is to us, but we have concrete!

Now, you can only imagine what an adventure it was trying to get a two month old to get their hand print or footprint in the cement. We had first put cooking oil on his hand (they suggested we do this to keep the concrete from sticking to our hands) and we were trying to keep him from putting it in his mouth and trying to get his hand unclenched and not dump him on his head at the same time. We tried the hand print first, but it didn't look to hot. So we went with the footprints. Still did not look the greatest, but a sweet memory for us!

Hayden is starting to like his bouncer a little more and hang out while we are cooking or eating dinner!

We are almost ready for concrete!

We are pretty close to being ready to pour concrete! YEA! They should be out to finish laying the rebar on Monday and will pour concrete on Tuesday morning. Our builder said it would then be about a week and our metal building will be up!

The part sticking off the front is our parking area.

I am standing in our kitchen. :-) The part sticking off the back is our back patio. We will have a 20 ft. by 50 ft. awning over the front and the back.

We went last night and got our exterior doors and windows. Yes, that is what we did for our anniversary! We snuck in a trip to Red Lobster as well. Hayden was so good yesterday and just went right along with all our stops without making a fuss!

And to sneak in a picture of our baby boy...

Celebrating 5 years!

Today, Jeff and I celebrate 5 years of marriage! I feel so blessed to call him my husband and "My Baby's Daddy"! :-) Other than Hayden's birth day, this is definitely the best day of my life! I love you Jeff!

Here are a few pictures from our special day. They aren't the greatest quality. I had to scan and crop this first one of us. We are staying at my parents house while they are out of town so I don't have our wedding pics with us.

Getting ready to leave in the limo. We left the next day (actually at like 5 AM after our wedding) for Negril, Jamaica...the best honeymoon anyone could ask for!

Bumbo Seat

We started sitting in the bumbo seat this past weekend. Hayden isn't real crazy about it quite yet, but he does great for about 10 minutes or so.

Exciting Day!

Today is a day we have been waiting on for several months. The beginning of our new house! They are supposed to be out there this morning setting forms for our concrete and digging our beams. YEA! We decided to build a metal building with living quarters in it rather than a house at this time. With me staying home, we felt it was the better option! Hopefully we won't be too poor! ;-)

Here are a couple of pictures of where our house will be. My mom and dad gave us two acres to build on on the south part of their land. You can kind of see my parents' house in this first picture.

Father's Day Fun

Happy First Father's Day Daddy!

Jeff got a couple of presents from Hayden. One was a book he had been wanting called When Technology Fails. Then he also found a receipt for a gun barrel he had wanted in this Cracker Jack box. He was pretty excited about his gifts.

We went to church for the first time on Father's Day. Hayden did GREAT and of course everyone was in love with him! ;-) I had to step out about 15 minutes before church was over to feed him...not because he was crying, but because I didn't want him to start. ;-)

After church, we went to Jeff's Mom and Dad's house (like we do every Sunday). All of Jeff's brother's and sisters come every Sunday after church with their families for lunch. We are so lucky to have that time together!

His Nana trying to get him to smile for her. I kept missing the smile with the camera.

Our niece Brooklyn holding him. Literally about a minute after she took him, he just fell asleep in her arms. I think he was one tired boy!

2 months

DSC_0477

Yesterday, June 15, our baby boy became a two month old! Where does time go? He is truly the love of our lives and we can't imagine our life without him.

What is Hayden up to these days?
Sitting up with support and holding his head up very well for a few minutes.
Likes to kick and spat at the air with his hands.
Clearly focuses on those close to him and speaking to him.
Cooing regularly...has conversations with you. :-)
Very alert and LOVES to be talked to!
Recognizes Mommy and Daddy and will turn his head to see us/follow us.
Will smile every once in a while, but not a clear emotion quite yet.
Will try to climb up your torso when being held.
Tummy time is not his favorite thing. We have to get better at this!
Going about 4-5 hours between most feedings at night.
Still sleeping in his swing most of the time. Some naps on his stomach. Still does not like to lay on his back while sleeping.
Getting better about not fussing with diaper changes.
Still taking Prevacid for reflux. No longer taking oat cereal in the bottle (only did this about a week).
Wear a size 1 diaper.
Outgrown all the newborn outfits and are into your 0-3 months.

Today we had our 2 month well check. Hayden weighed 10 lbs, 5 oz. (gain of 2 lbs, 1 oz) (25%), was 22 1/4 inches (gain of 1 1/4 inches) (25 %), and his head measured 15 3/4 (50 %). He also got 5 shots. Poor baby! We thought it was only going to be 3, but they were out of one that is usually combined together. It was awful!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeff had to keep blowing in his face to make him catch his breath. It was so sad! Jeff and I were both fighting back the tears! Check out all these bandaids.

DSC_0475

We talked to the doctor about his sleeping. Obviously he can't sleep in the swing forever or even much longer. We talked about how he really doesn't like sleeping on his back, or simply won't do it much. The doctor said he gave us "permission" for him to sleep on his tummy all the time (not just at naps when we watch him like a hawk.) I guess we have some decisions to make and some praying to do. Of course, like any parent, we want what is best and what will make him happy. I will keep you posted. For tonight, I think it is a swing night. :-)

And just for kicks...I thought this picture was so funny!

Back to Work Tomorrow

Tomorrow is a day I have been dreading! I go back to work. The good thing, only for 5 days and then I am officially a Stay At Home Mommy! I work tomorrow, then next Monday-Thursday and I officially done. It is truly bitter sweet. I LOVE my school, the ladies I work with, and the kids are precious! But, there is nothing more precious than being home with my baby boy! Hayden will be staying with my mom and I am sure they will be great. I am just worried about myself. ;-) I will try not to call too many times and check in, but no guarantees.

Boys Can Wear Gowns Too!

Look! Boys can wear gowns too! (Sorry Daddy, I know you don't like to use the word "gown".) We have started wearing these every night and I love them!! They are so easy to change a diaper in the middle of the night! Thanks Amy!!

What is this?

This is a picture of a little boy who put himself to sleep for the 2nd time in his bed! YEA HAYDEN! Only lasted for about 20 minutes until he was crying again, but it was sweet while it lasted. :-)

Sleep

So sweet! Sleeping on his belly...his favorite!

Cuddling with his Auntie Robin!

Notice a pattern? Hayden likes to sleep...during the day! ;-) No, he is really doing better with his sleeping schedule. He usually is down for the night around 10:30 or 11:00. Of course, waking every 3-4 hours to eat. But, most of the time will go back to sleep. We have an occasional night where he is wide awake and will stay up between feeding times. He is always so happy and alert while I am a zombie! I wouldn't trade that time with him though! He is so sweet and loveable!!

He is still sleeping in his swing for the most part. We do occasionally put him down for a nap on his stomach and he loves it! He sleeps so good, but Jeff and I are constantly checking to make sure he is ok. We did have one night where he put himself to sleep in his bed on his back, for 30 minutes. ;-) But, hey, we will take it! He did it! A small victory!

Well, off to go shower and get ready before I wake him up to go see all the girls at work! It is the workday and they are all dying to see him! We are excited!
