Storms and a Bug Watch

Today was a pretty relaxing day at home.  We have had lots of storms lately.  Today was no exception.  Jeff left yesterday to go get our travel trailer from the deer lease.  He said when he got home that God was watching over him.  He missed all the bad storms driving to the lease last night and got back home right before they all hit here around lunch time.  So thankful they (Jeff and the trailer) made it home safely!!

Tonight we watched storms roll in again from our front and back porches.   DSC_0347 DSC_0330

Hayden has not ever really been bothered by storms before.  But tonight, he wasn’t so sure about all the loud thunder.

Jeff took a few pictures of our flowers.

I love our Fuchsia plants!

Jeff thought he would get to hit a few golf balls this evening.  Jeff would put them down to hit and a certain little boy would go get them, throw them, line them up, etc.  When Hayden first saw them from afar, he said EEAAGGGSS!  I think he has eggs on the brain!

Hayden is LOVING his new bug watch that Cousin Pam got for him!

Can you say YUCK? DSC_0355

He also tried to put his new “plastic” bugs in there.  Although they don’t quite fit, I think I like those a lot better!!!

Cousin Pam, you will never know how grateful we are for the bug watch.  Ha!  Well, Hayden is VERY grateful!  ;-)

Easter 2011 Recap

Last night, we attended our Community/Church Easter egg hunt.   A couple in our church were gracious enough to have everyone at their home.  They have about 200 beautiful acres and it was a perfect spot to have it!  They also had hotdogs and three bounce houses for the kids.

We tried a few times to get Hayden go jump in the bounce house and go down the big bounce slide.  Hayden wanted nothing to do with it and held on for life!

A gentleman brought this remote control car that entertained the kids and adults too. It would go 80+ MPH.  It was crazy!  Hayden LOVED watching it!

DSC_0269

Before the egg hunt, they had all the kids sit down to tell the kids that Easter isn’t just about eggs and bunnies.  But, the REAL reason we celebrate Easter.  They kids were absolutely perfect listeners.   I can’t wait for the day that Hayden fully understand what Easter really means.   They also gave them each a necklace with Jesus written on it.    Hayden proudly wore his.  :-)

Our friend Hudson was there too!  I love how precious they look wearing their Jesus necklace.

This morning we went to church.  In Sunday School, Jeff and I watched parts of The Passion of Christ in our class.  I had not seen the movie in quite some time.  I think I had forgotten exactly how hard it is to watch.  Although I am so grateful that Jesus died on the cross for ME and YOU, it doesn’t make it any easier to watch.  Thankfully, He AROSE!

Papaw and Hayden.  They are pretty good buddies.DSC_0297

Lulu pushed Hayden around on the scooter.  Hayden kept saying “Moy, Moy” .

( That would be “MORE” in Hayden’s language)  DSC_0302

Hayden has this egg hunting thing down.  He couldn’t find any in his bucket so he was ready to go hunt him some “eaaggsss”.

Cozi Calendar

photo Are you looking for a way to organize your family?  I discovered Cozi Family from the PoeFam blog and I am loving it!!  It is a free online calendar (that corresponds with a free or inexpensive ad free iPhone/Android Ap) that allows me to type everything in and it go to my phone and Jeff’s phone.  It will go to as many phones as you want.  So if you have teenagers, you can add them too!  Everyone can put their events in there and you can keep up with all  in one place!  It is GREAT!  Each “appointment” is color coded for each member of our family!  It will send you a weekly email of the appointments/events you have for that week.  It will also send you reminders right before your appointments.  I love the “to do” lists too. I can also make a grocery list for each place I need to go and check each item off when I am done!  Yesterday I had a Costco List and a Target List.   If you are a “super couponer”, this would work GREAT to keep your lists organized!  Jeff can add things as well and it all shows up in the same place!  You should try it!  It is free, so why not? I don’t think you will regret it!!  I love anything that is free, easy to use,  and will help me be more organized!

Hayden’s 2nd Birthday Party Tractor Style (Part 2)

After our guests arrived, we enjoyed some delicious brisket we picked up from Circle H Bar B Q (a local place).  I made all the fixin’s.  I made PW Potato Salad, PW Baked Beans, and coleslaw from a combination of a couple of recipes I found online.  None of which I had ever made before.  I thought it was pretty good if I do say so myself.  :)

What is a party without a wheelbarrow full of Blue Bell?

Hayden was blessed with many new tractors, dump trucks, a basketball goal, a Chuggington train set and trains, two different guitars, a remote control bus, books, puzzles, blocks, clothes, Leap Frog Count and Scan, summer fun activities, and Target gift cards.  My goodness, he is one lucky boy!

The boys loved Hayden’s new basketball goal.

Hayden’s gift from us (Mommy and Daddy) was  a new tractor of his own!

It was a little hard for Hayden to use the foot petal.  Good thing he has some great cousins that helped him out!  I think each of his cousins took turns holding it down as he went around and around the house!

Don’t worry, he has already learned how to stand up and drive all by himself!

Piñata time!  They were serious business about this piñata!  Swinging with all they had.  It took them a little bit to bust through but it gave them each a chance to have a few turns.

They loved it!

So much so that he just kept going, and going, and going.  Never mind the tricycle!  It was in his way!!  So funny!
