1st Thanksgiving

Hayden's first Thanksgiving was a good one! Because Jeff had to go to work Thanksgiving afternoon, we had his family Thanksgiving early that day. Then, after I came home and cooked a little, Hayden and I went to my brother's house for Round 2 that afternoon. Here are a few pictures from Jeff's family Thanksgiving...

Jeff wanted to make sure that Hayden wasn't left out when we were eating. So, before we ate, I fed him a little sweet potato and corn baby food. Then, while we were eating, he ate a few bites of mashed potatoes. Then, we decided to give him a little deviled egg. Here is the result...

Ok, I will try a little deviled egg.

Ewww...Not sure I like this!

OK. I H-A-T-E it!!! Please don't EVER make me eat that again!

Whew...Nana saved the day! She didn't make me eat any more deviled egg. She wanted to give me chocolate, but my Mommy said I couldn't have any. :-)

Hayden update

Just thought I would give you an update on Hayden. He is doing better! We went back to the doctor yesterday and they said he sounded and looked good. No ear infection either! YEA! He actually acted like himself today for the 1st time since Friday. We will continue to do the breathing treatments every 4-6 hours and go back to the doctor next week. Luckily, Jeff has been home with me everyday since we have had to start the breathing treatments. It takes us both to give them to him. Unfortunately, he has been sick too. And now, I am getting sick too! They told us that Hayden was contagious for about a week. Super! We are now one happy sick family! UHK!

Our sick baby

Well, it is official. We have one-sick-baby! Saturday evening, Hayden starting with running nose, sneezing, and a little cough. We were at the deer lease and headed home first thing Sunday morning. Hayden slept almost the entire way home. Not normal! By Sunday evening, he was sick, sick, sick! Running fever, congestion, runny nose, etc. I slept in the recliner with him because he couldn't breath laying in his bed. Last night I put him in his carseat to sleep and he did do better. He would atleast sleep for 2-3 hours at a time. We tried to take him in to the doctor yesterday, but they said they said they were already double booked. GREAT! So, we took him this morning and his ears were clear and chest was clear. But, they decided to test him for RSV just to be sure. Sure enough, the test came back positive! So, home we came with a nebulizer and two prescriptions for it.

We have made it through two treatments and what I can tell you is IT-IS-NOT-FUN holding your screaming and fighting 7 month old down for 15 minutes while you complete the treatment! We get to do this every 4-6 hours. We go back tomorrow for them to check him again. As of right now, we will be taking the breathing treatments for a couple of weeks depending on he is doing of course. He does seem to be better tonight. They did tell us to not be surprised if he has an ear infection tomorrow. Evidently it is common with RSV. Hopefully he won't!

Please pray for our baby doll!

Baby Dedication

On Sunday, we had Hayden's baby dedication at our church. It was a sweet ceremony that introduced the 4 new babies, we as parents committed to raise our child in a Christian home, and the church family committed to model Christian beliefs as well. Each baby was given a New Testament Bible with their name on it, a certificate, and a Bible verse. Hayden's special Bible verse was "Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord...for ye serve the Lord." Colassians 3:23-24

Hayden decided to be a little talkative during the ceremony. He "talked out" when the preacher was speaking, when we were praying, and when it was time to say Amen. It was priceless! After the ceremony, the children's choir sang a sweet song.

Hayden had many special people there that day that we are so thankful for! Special thanks to our friends Jeff, Jennifer, Landree, Hudson, and Cindy for coming and sharing this time with us! It was a special day for our family.

We are a hunting family!

It's official! We are a hunting family! Hayden included!

A couple of weekends ago, we went back to the deer lease for opening weekend. The three of us went and my Dad was able to come down Friday evening as well. We had a great time!

Here are a few pictures of our weekend...

The jumperoo, the pack-n-play, the bumbo, the boppy, and Hayden's bags.

Jeff and I took turns going hunting. I hunted opening morning and Sunday morning by myself. I saw several deer opening morning, but nothing worthy (yet!).

Then, Dad, Hayden, and I hunted together on Saturday afternoon. We just brought Hayden's toys, his snacks (puffs and water), and a blanket for him to play on. He would play for a while, talk for a while, sit in my lap then Dad's lap for while, eat puffs, and he finally took a nap for the last 45 minutes or so. We thought we might actually see something after he fell asleep, but no such luck! Oh well, we had fun together anyway!

We had two night events that weekend. One on Friday night and one on Saturday night. Both had BBQ dinners, live bands, and chances to win prizes. Too bad we didn't win anything!

People watchin! This place was packed! I think we are all exhausted by this point after a long drive in that day!

This is the second late night in a row for him! Bless his heart, he was so good! He slept through the loud band playing and this obnoxious announcer guy talking! But hey, he is still looking precious in all his camo!

All in all, it was a good weekend!

Jeff went back to the lease with my Dad and one of my twin nephews this past weekend. We thought it would be a little much for Hayden to make the trip again so soon. We plan to head back as a family in a couple of weeks!
