A little this, a little that…

Oh my goodness!  Are you ready for this ARTIC BLAST??????  I am not!!  I am pretty sure I am not ready for single digit temperatures!  Ready or not, it sounds like it is coming!

I decided that Hayden and I would get out and do a little running around this afternoon since I figured we would be cooped up in the house for the rest of the week.  I was looking for something to wear to an event on Friday, so we went to several places this afternoon.  On the way there, we passed two Sonic Drive-Ins.  Hayden proceeded to throw a fit each time we passed one.  I have to admit, I believe I have created a monster!  He may or may not be a little crazy about a strawberry slush from Sonic!  So, the third Sonic we came to, we drove on in and got that precious boy a strawberry slush!  I couldn’t let him throw three fits in one day!

Here is what else he wanted while we were out…Every balloon at the Dollar Tree (ok, so I gave in and got him a balloon).  Sippy Cups at TJ Maxx.  Popcorn at Target (right after we ate dinner at Chick-Fil-A).  Every ball at Target.  The dog mannequin at Old Navy.  A three foot tall ceramic dog at Ross.  And…some jewelry from Stein Mart.  I am sure there were more, but those specific items are what I can remember for now!

A funny story…last time we went shopping at Kohls, Mom (Nanny) was with us.  Well, last time, we met up with her in the jewelry department.  I had told Hayden to yell “Nanny” so we could find her.  Well, tonight when we (just Hayden and I) were in Kohls, Hayden started yelling “Nanny” when were walking by the jewelry department.  So funny!  Crazy how they remember things like that!

Can I just say it is so much fun shopping with a one year old!  Ha!  I have to say, he really was GREAT today!  He was such a trooper with all the in and out we did!  I guess he might be a pro by now though.

Here is what else we have been up to the past few days…

Now that it’s midnight, I really want to watch the Bachelor!  I forgot it was recorded until now.  Not sure if I will make it though!  I am not sure I can stay up till 1:30 in the morning two days in a row!

Stay Warm YA’LL!  (That’s for you Jamie!)

First Family Visit to the Zoo!

Today, we woke up with absolutely no plans.  Jeff made us homemade waffles for breakfast and Hayden took a great morning nap.  We knew it was going to be a beautiful day outside and wanted to take advantage of our day together.  So, we decided to head to the Tyler Caldwell Zoo.  When we got there, we only had about 2 hours before they closed, but it was the perfect amount of time!    We were somewhat surprised, but there were not many people there.  There were about 10 cars in the parking lot, which worked out great for us!  Hayden was able to run/walk freely pretty much the whole time!  It is a small zoo, but we enjoyed it so much!

I am a little disappointed in the quality of our pictures.  There were so many shadows  (PRAISE THE LORD FOR THE SUNSHINE!) and I didn’t have my long zoom lens.  I will definitely be taking it next time!

They have a children’s area right by the gate.  They have goats you can pet.  Hayden wasn’t so sure at first.   But after we exited the goat petting area and washed our hands, he wanted to go back!

They also had a bridge you could use to climb up to the tractor.  If you know Hayden, you know how much he LOVED this tractor!

We were beginning to think we came to the zoo to ride the tractor.  Ha!

This was the first time Hayden had ridden on his Daddy’s shoulders.  I am pretty sure this was the highlight of the trip.  He thought he was on top of the world!

We of course had to go into the gift shop for a prize.  We got this really cool book!  It is a Roger Priddy shadow flap book called At the Zoo.  How appropriate was that?   :-)  It is such a cool book!

All three of us were “all smiles” today!  We had such a fun time as a family.  We are already looking forward to our trip back to the zoo!

Fun with Friends

Yesterday, we went to see our friends Stacey and Cooper.  Cooper’s birthday party was in November and we still had his birthday present.  So sad!  So, we were anxious to get together with them!

The boys enjoyed some lunch.  The momma’s enjoyed lunch and chatting too!

After eating lunch and letting Cooper take a little nap, we headed out to the play area at the Galleria.  We had not ever been there and Hayden LOVED it!

We tried a few times to get the boys picture together.  We didn’t have much luck with two busy one year olds!  (The boys are about 7 months apart.)

Hayden was so brave going up and down, sliding, etc.  I am pretty sure my heart skipped a beat a few times, but Hayden had so much fun!  He may or may not have thrown a fit when it was time to leave.  Ha!

Hayden kept leaving the play area to take a look at this huge giraffe!

We were on the third floor and Hayden loved looking down to see what all was going on!

I love getting together with friends and so does Hayden.  Thank you Stacey and Cooper for a fun day!  Hope to see you guys again soon!
